Job summary

Tempe Mechanical is seeking a Business Development Manager to build trusted relationships with general contractors, owners, developers, architects and engineers driving commercial mechanical and plumbing work in the Valley. The role focuses on high-value relationships, earning access to decision-makers and turning access into qualified opportunities aligned with Tempe Mechanical’s strengths.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of business development or consultative B2B sales with long cycles.
• Proven ability to access senior decision-makers and convert relationships into work.
• Disciplined pipeline management; maintain current account plans.
• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills; CRM/pipeline tools experience.
• Valid driver’s license and local travel to customer sites.
• Preferred: experience in commercial construction, MEP trades, facilities or CRE.
• Preferred: established Phoenix-area relationships with general contractors/owners.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or related field.

Responsibilities

• Identify high-potential customers, projects and partners in Greater Phoenix.
• Collaborate with VP of Revenue to select target accounts and prioritize them.
• Develop multi-level relationships with decision-makers and influencers.
• Qualify opportunities thoroughly before pursuing them.
• Maintain account plans, relationship maps and next steps for targets.
• Coordinate with Estimating, Preconstruction, Operations and Marketing for aligned messaging.
• Represent Tempe Mechanical at industry events, meetings and jobsites.
