CIBC in New York, NY seeks an Executive Director, Balance Sheet Optimization to lead growth by optimizing balance sheet, funding, and risk within Corporate & Investment Banking. You will work across teams, starting with hands-on data gathering and reporting as processes are automated.

You will identify opportunities, propose executable solutions such as loan sales, forward flow, funding trades, and asset pledges, and coordinate front‑office and control partners to secure approvals and document

Qualifications

• Typically 10+ years of relevant experience in corporate banking, investment banking, credit, loan distribution, or capital management.
• MBA, CFA, or formal credit trading a plus.
• Strong understanding of corporate credit, financial modeling, transaction structuring, portfolio risk, and funding considerations.
• Experience optimizing balance sheets, funding and risk within a bank.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and ability to translate complex issues into clear recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Identify transaction, client, and sector constraints and assess opportunities to optimize balance sheet, capital, funding and risk.
• Coordinate front‑office and control partners to structure and execute transactions, secure approvals, and complete documentation.
• Develop executable solutions—loan sales, forward flow arrangements, NPI, CDS, SRT, funding trades and asset pledges.
• Maintain a forward view of the transaction pipeline, portfolio roll‑off, and capacity to support growth.
• Deliver concise management reporting on pipeline, constraints, opportunities, and realized benefits.
