Job summary

R.M. Palmer Company, LLC seeks an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth in Contract Manufacturing and Confectionery Coatings. You will lead new partnerships, manage onboarding, and shepherd opportunities from prospecting to launch.

Collaborating across Operations, Quality, R&D, Planning, Purchasing, Finance, Scheduling, and Customer Service, you’ll ensure profitable, long-term partnerships while traveling up to 50% as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in business development, strategic sales, contract manufacturing, CPG or related roles.
• Direct confectionery industry experience required.
• Proven success identifying, developing, and closing new B2B opportunities.
• Experience selling contract manufacturing and/or private label solutions.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% for customer meetings and events.

Responsibilities

• Drive new business growth by developing strategies to meet revenue, gross margin, and pipeline targets.
• Identify and secure new B2B contract manufacturing and confectionery coating opportunities.
• Build relationships with confectionery manufacturers, retailers, private label organizations, and strategic partners.
• Lead customer discovery meetings to understand manufacturing, product, and commercial needs.
• Prepare proposals, pricing, and commercial agreements; support negotiations.
• Oversee onboarding and commercialization, coordinating with Operations, Quality, R&D, Planning, Purchasing, Finance, and Customer Service.
• Develop long-term partnerships through reviews on performance, forecasting, and customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate across the business to align expectations with capabilities and report growth opportunities.
