Job summary

The Simplot Company, headquartered in Boise, Idaho, is seeking a Credit Analyst to support U.S. domestic B2B customers across Food/North American Food Group and Wholesale Agriculture.

You will evaluate credit risk, manage receivables and collections, support responsible sales, and help convert receivables into timely cash while protecting company assets. The analyst investigates new and existing customers, evaluates financial capacity and payment behavior, and makes or recommends credit

Qualifications

• Demonstrated analytical and critical-thinking ability to evaluate financial and account information.
• Ability to communicate professionally with external B2B customers and internal partners by phone, email, and written formats.
• Strong organization and prioritization skills in a multi-tasking environment.
• Ability to exercise judgment and escalate when needed.
• Working knowledge of basic accounting concepts, business math, and accounts receivable processes.
• Ability to maintain accurate, timely records.
• Willingness to learn new systems and processes and apply feedback.
• Ability to handle difficult collection or risk conversations professionally.

Responsibilities

• Onboard customers and investigate credit; obtain and evaluate credit reports and references.
• Analyze financial statements and payment history to identify risks and escalation needs.
• Recommend or approve credit limits and terms within authority.
• Monitor portfolios and adjust limits or holds as needed.
• Manage accounts receivable aging and collections.
• Investigate billing, deductions, and payment issues to resolve root causes.
• Review orders on credit hold and release or escalate as appropriate.
• Communicate with customers clearly about balances, commitments, and next steps.
• Coordinate with Sales, Cash Application, Accounting, and Finance to resolve issues.
• Document drive and escalation decisions and maintain controls.
• Prepare recurring reporting and participate in process improvements.
