Job summary

The University of Chicago seeks an Associate Vice President for Civic Partnerships and Community Impact to lead university-wide civic engagement initiatives. You will translate priorities into action, cultivate relationships with government, philanthropy, higher education, and nonprofits, and drive cross‑school collaboration to advance community impact.

Qualifications

College or university degree required.
Advanced degree preferred.
10+ years of work experience in a related field.
Experience building, cultivating and sustaining strategic civic relationships.
Experience establishing measures of success and using data to evaluate impact.

Responsibilities

Lead implementation of the University's civic engagement priorities established by the Chief Strategist for Community Engagement and Partnerships.
Cultivate and steward executive‑level relationships with leaders across government, philanthropy, higher education, nonprofit organizations, business, and civic institutions.
Represent the Office of Civic Engagement in regional partnerships, coalitions, and collaborative initiatives.
Prepare strategic analyses, recommendations, and briefing materials for the Chief Strategist and University leadership.
Lead through influence, collaboration, strategic judgment, and relationship stewardship rather than formal authority.
