Job summary

Indiana University seeks an AVP for Faculty Research and Team Development to lead two stages of ORD’s proposal development pathway. The AVP will identify promising ideas, form teams, align priorities, and secure partnerships to build sustained proposal and budget development across IU campuses.

The role requires seamless collaboration with ORD and RDS, cross-campus engagement, and leadership in strategic research development initiatives. Start date expected Jan 4, 2027.

Qualifications

• Tenured associate professor or full professor at Indiana University on any campus.
• Proven history of external funding and research and team development.
• Demonstrated leadership and sound judgment with the ability to work with faculty and leaders across disciplines and campuses.

Responsibilities

• Identify promising ideas and investigators.
• Form teams, especially Pre-RFPs.
• Align institutional and sponsor priorities.
• Secure people and partnerships to pursue significant opportunities through IU Research’s internal funding programs.

Education

Ph.D. in STEM or science discipline
