Job summary

Aspire Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Purchasing–Buyer to support our automotive supplier client in Columbus, OH. You will source and select automotive components, develop supplier relationships, and drive cost-saving initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), at least one year in purchasing or related fields, and strong negotiation, project management, and cost-analysis skills. On-site responsibilities and travel may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Minimum of one year of experience in Purchasing, Sales, Quality Control, or Engineering.
• Project management experience.
• Strong time management skills.
• Knowledge of supply chain management concepts.
• Ability to negotiate based on logic and manage cost.
• Experience in managing customer and supplier relationships.
• Ability to develop and present clear, concise proposals.
• Basic math skills.
• Proficiency with standard computer and email tools.
• Strong cost analysis abilities.

Responsibilities

• Research, evaluate, and buy automotive components for new model trials.
• Correlate and select suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and on-time delivery.
• Maintain communications with suppliers regarding design changes for trial and mass production.
• Issue Supplier Documents – contracts, forecasts, RFQ and related letters.
• Develop, approve, and execute purchasing strategies for assigned commodities.
• Achieve cost targets through supplier selection and negotiation.
• Maintain supplier relationships and supplier documentation (Q-Pulse).
• Coordinate RFQ processes, event orders, pricing and terms.
• Develop products with suppliers through the new model event process.
