Job summary

Northern Trust Corp. is seeking an Audit Specialist to serve as a subject-matter expert within the financial services industry.

The role involves planning and testing audit coverage, drafting Board materials, and guiding audit teams to assess controls and key risks across the organization's operations. Reporting to an Audit Director, you will interact with regulators, contribute to risk assessment, and lead initiatives to strengthen internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required from an accredited college or university.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, CISA, CIA, ACA, ACCA, and/or MBA are preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and report-writing skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership in designing audit coverage across the specialist's area(s).
• Draft Board reports at legal entity and corporate levels, highlighting key risks.
• Interact with global regulators to articulate Audit perspective and coverage approach.
• Serve as SME, consultant, or oversight reviewer on audit engagements as needed.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of assigned business units, products, and related risks.
