Northern Trust is seeking an Audit Specialist to conduct and document audits across Asset and Wealth Management. The role supports risk-based audit coverage, identifies key risks and controls, and collaborates with audit teams to deliver high-quality assurance.

The position operates in a hybrid model within Audit Services, offering growth in governance, risk management, and internal controls while engaging with multiple business partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, business, information systems, economics, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in internal audit, risk management, compliance, public accounting, or financial services.
• Experience auditing Asset Management and/or Wealth Management activities preferred.
• Prior experience as lead auditor, senior auditor, audit manager, risk specialist, or subject matter expert preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments while collaborating with partners and audit teams.

Responsibilities

• Support development and execution of risk-based audit coverage over Asset Management and Wealth Management activities.
• Serve as SME for audit engagements involving investment management, fiduciary services, wealth management, and related processes.
• Participate in audits, issue validations, risk assessments, continuous monitoring, and advisory engagements as lead auditor or technical specialist.
• Evaluate emerging risks, regulatory developments, industry trends, and business changes impacting AMWM.
• Provide guidance on governance, risk management, and internal controls within assigned areas of expertise.
• Review and evaluate design and effectiveness of governance processes and internal controls.
