Job summary

UHY-US in Ann Arbor, MI, is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to lead and oversee audit engagements from planning through completion. You will manage teams, ensure timely delivery, and uphold high-quality standards while building strong client relationships.

You will collaborate with partners to develop audit strategies, allocate resources, and stay current with accounting standards; CPA licensure and continued professional education are required for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 5 – 8 years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years of audit experience in a CPA firm with progressive leadership.
• CPA license required; IT audit certifications acceptable.
• Responsible for completing the minimum CPE credit requirement.
• Specific positions may require additional industry or specialization certifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of audit professionals in planning, executing, and concluding audit engagements.
• Ensure adherence to engagement timelines, budgets, and firm standards.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships as primary contact for audit engagements.
• Provide strategic insights and recommendations to clients for improving financial processes, controls, and reporting.
• Collaborate with partners and directors to develop audit strategies and plans.
• Oversee allocation of resources, assignment of roles, and development of audit programs.
• Conduct complex audit procedures, review work papers, and assess findings for accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor progress and guide the team to meet milestones.
• Stay updated on accounting standards, regulatory changes, and industry trends.
• Provide expert guidance to the team on complex accounting and auditing issues.
• Coach, mentor, and develop staff; conduct performance evaluations.
• Ensure audit documentation and reports meet firm standards and regulations.
• Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and services.
