Job summary

Grant Thornton LLP in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Strategic Assurance and SOC Services Associate for Summer 2027 to join the SASS practice. You will work on engagements ranging from Readiness Assessments to SOC 1/2, HIPAA and HITRUST, collaborating with clients to identify controls and reduce risk.

You’ll gain exposure to delivery teams across consulting and assurance, with hybrid work options and in-person client site attendance at least three days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Information Technology, MIS or related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
• Desire to pursue CPA, CISA, CIA license/certification preferred.
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0/4.0
• Ability to work additional hours as needed and travel 20%-50% as required.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. No visa sponsorship is available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Plan engagement strategy with the client, define objectives, and address business risks and issues and supporting controls.
• Apply current knowledge of trends to identify business risk management issues and other opportunities for improvement.
• Test and evaluate business processes and information technology controls to mitigate risk.
• Execute assigned client engagements from start to completion of business process and information systems.
• Participate in client status updates.
• Gain a comprehensive understanding of assigned client operations, processes and business objectives, and apply that knowledge on engagements.
• Participate in recruiting efforts as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
