Job summary

The University of Chicago's Department of Chemistry seeks an Associate Director of Academic Program Operations to lead administrative functions for graduate and undergraduate programs, reporting to the Managing Director and collaborating with the DGS and DUS.

In this role you will ensure seamless program operations, develop process improvements, oversee budgets and payroll, and coordinate student recruitment, admissions, and orientation with faculty leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5–7 years of related work experience.
• Ph.D. preferred for leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities for curricular and process improvements.
• Oversee and track yearly academic performance reviews and student progress.
• Prepare monthly reports of graduate program metrics.
• Coordinate recruitment, admissions and orientation activities with faculty leadership.
• Collect student concerns and develop resolution plans.
• Manage payroll streams for undergraduate and graduate students.
• Coordinate with College and Divisional offices to ensure program success.
