Job summary

Rend Lake College seeks an Associate Dean of Applied Science & Technology to lead the division's operations, budgeting, and program growth. You will collaborate with faculty, staff, and industry partners to advance workforce-ready programs and ensure high-quality educational opportunities.

The role emphasizes strategic leadership, faculty support, and coordination of grants and advisory activities to strengthen programs in career and technical education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred.
• 3–5 years of higher education experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in career and technical education programs.
• Experience with curriculum development, program assessment, accreditation, and continuous improvement.
• Experience developing partnerships with employers and aligning programs with regional workforce needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Dean with administration, coordination, and daily operations.
• Assist budgeting, expenditures, grant-funded activities, and resource allocation.
• Develop course schedules, instructor assignments, and lab scheduling.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, supervision, evaluation, and professional development of faculty and staff.
• Assist with hiring processes for faculty and staff.
• Serve as point of contact for divisional questions.
• Assist with program review activities and action planning.
• Support implementation of the division's strategic plan.
• Coordinate grants, projects, and workforce initiatives.
• Coordinate advisory committee meetings.
• Develop relationships with area businesses and community partners.
• Support development of training and industry credentials.
• Assist with recruitment and retention activities for Applied Science and Technology programs.
• Represent the division at meetings and events.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
