Job summary

Pitkin County is seeking an Assets and Facilities Manager to lead facilities operations, asset management, and major capital projects. You will supervise managers, develop strategic asset plans, and ensure contract administration, compliance, and coordinated delivery across departments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience as a Supervisor or Lead.
• 5+ years experience in asset management, facilities management, capital project planning and management, or related field.
• Bachelor’s Degree required in engineering, construction management, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Project management certification (PMP, CCM, or equivalent) preferred.
• Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and leads managers responsible for facilities operations, asset management and project delivery.
• Develops and leads strategic asset management program for County-owned facilities and assets.
• Oversees construction, repair, acquisition, disposition and utilization of General Fund assets.
• Leads development and management of capital improvement and renewal program; manages grants and reporting.
• Represents County to negotiate agreements for construction projects and asset management; liaises with agencies on multi‑jurisdictional projects.
• Collaborates with Procurement, engineers, planners, architects, owners’ representatives and contractors; attends progress meetings and ensures code compliance.
• Develops operating and capital budgets, monitors expenditures and identifies cost-savings; handles procurement processes and contracting.
• Supports public relations with citizens and County staff; maintains confidentiality and may perform other duties.
