Job summary

Kroger's Fred Meyer division in Oregon seeks an Asset Protection Manager to lead the department, uphold core values, and safeguard assets. You will supervise staff, drive excellent customer service, and work to maximize store performance.

The role requires hands-on investigations, adherence to corporate policies, and collaboration with store teams to reduce shrink and improve safety. This is a full-time on-site position with weekend availability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 1 year of retail asset protection experience.
• Minimum age 18 (21 in Alaska) and ability to pass background check.
• Ability to pass a drug test and work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coach direct reports; complete performance reviews and provide feedback
• Deliver and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service
• Maximize sales and sales margins
• Reduce dishonesty by investigating theft and by identifying high theft areas; apprehend individuals
• Monitor large shrink areas in stores
• Provide credible court testimony
• Implement corporate and divisional service, merchandising and operating requirements
• Maintain knowledge of merchandising plans and timetables
• Achieve department and store financial objectives
• Develop and adjust weekly work schedules
• Conduct internal investigations
• Minimize exposure to civil liability
• Verify EAS is utilized and maintained
• Participate in safety meetings
• Co-chair shrink meetings
• Prepare missing merchandise reports
• Promote associate participation in incentive programs
• Maintain compliance with corporate policies
• Promote company initiatives
• Maintain safety guidelines and standards
• Communicate with corporate associates to support asset protection initiatives
• Work with associates to maintain inviting common areas reflecting company culture
• Maintain flexibility to work shifts and weekends
