Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience estimating in metal fabrication, industrial construction, or process equipment installation.
• Knowledge of fabrication methods, welding processes, piping systems, and installation practices.
• Ability to read mechanical, structural, and piping drawings.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and takeoff tools.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for metal fabrication, process piping, structural steel, and food processing projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, RFQs, and contract documents to understand full project scope and requirements.
• Perform material takeoffs and labor calculations using historical data and production rates.
• Solicit, evaluate, and level vendor and subcontractor quotes.
• Develop pricing for equipment, fabrication, installation, freight, taxes, and contingencies.
• Identify project risks, scope gaps, and value-engineering opportunities.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to validate constructability and fabrication assumptions.
• Support bid reviews, handoff meetings, and project transitions to operations and project management.
• Maintain estimating databases, cost models, and historical project data.
• Assist with change order pricing and budget updates as projects progress.
