Job summary

Asian American Federation Inc. seeks an experienced Advocacy and Policy Manager to advance policy priorities across New York City and New York State. The Manager will oversee advocacy portfolios, develop work plans, manage projects, and coordinate with external partners under the Associate Director’s direction.

The role emphasizes policy expertise, strong project management, and relationship-building across diverse communities, with grant-funded status and cross-organizational collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Policy or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4–5 years of advocacy, public policy, or nonprofit public affairs experience.
• Familiarity with NYC and NYS government processes.
• Excellent written communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commitment to community-centered advocacy and diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor NYC and NYS legislation, budget proposals, hearings, and agency actions.
• Draft advocacy materials, policy summaries, briefing materials, and testimony.
• Lead or support advocacy campaigns, coalition engagement, and stakeholder outreach.
• Coordinate timelines, deliverables, and cross-department collaboration.
• Represent AAF in coalitions, meetings with policymakers, and external forums.
