Job summary

Brown & Brown is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead financial accounting, reporting, and treasury activities for multiple pool programs. The role includes supervising accounting staff, overseeing general ledger, and coordinating regulatory filings.

The position emphasizes rigorous internal controls, budgeting, and collaboration with other departments to ensure accurate financial results and timely delivery of statements to governance boards.

Qualifications

• CPA required and active CPA license preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in a similar role managing multiple entities or audit engagements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for pool programs and management; oversee general ledger maintenance.
• Post or approve journal entries related to premiums, fees, and claims; ensure accuracy of revenue and expenses.
• Coordinate annual tax filings and regulatory reporting for state bodies, NCCI, ISO; support audit activities.
• Develop and monitor annual budgets for pool programs and provide management with variance analyses.
• Direct and supervise accounting staff across multiple locations and pool programs; ensure effective interdepartmental collaboration.
• Maintain strong internal controls around cash receipts, disbursements, and bank reconciliations.
