Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Seattle is seeking a senior accounting leader to direct payroll, accounts payable, and tax compliance. You will supervise payroll and payables teams, coordinate with HR on payroll activities, and manage software vendors to ensure accurate, timely financial operations.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s in accounting and 5+ years in accounting functions, with strong regulatory knowledge and detail-oriented problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent preferred.
• Five or more years of experience in related accounting functions.
• Strong understanding of relevant regulations at federal and state levels.
• Experience with Word, Excel, Access and HR/Payroll systems.
• Analytical and conceptual skills with high attention to accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Direct payroll process to meet biweekly deadlines.
• Oversee timekeeping entry and audit payroll data.
• Manage accounts payable to meet weekly check runs.
• Oversee tax compliance and returns (941, unemployment, workers comp, state returns).
• Lead payroll system implementations and vendor coordination.
• Prepare journals and reconcile payroll liabilities monthly.
