Job summary

Opportunity Home San Antonio is seeking an experienced Accountant to perform professional accounting work, including analysis, reporting, and maintenance of fiscal records for the agency.

The role requires GAAP knowledge, strong Excel and MS Office skills, and the ability to prepare journal entries, close monthly books, and support audits and regulatory reporting. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required, with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.
• GPA 2.5 or higher in accounting courses is required.
• Experience with cloud apps such as Google GSuite and Microsoft Office 365; proficient in Excel.
• Successful completion of a criminal history background check, education, and work history verification, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Prepare adjusting journal entries and post to the general ledger.
• Reconcile general ledger and bank statements; research variances.
• Process and review accounts payable and accounts receivable activity.
• Assist with budget processes and month-end close tasks; prepare reports.
• Support data governance initiatives and ensure ethical use of AI tools.
