GM Financial’s Strategic Account Manager Program is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience in financial services sales, business development and customer relationship management. You’ll work alongside top sales professionals to develop strategic selling techniques, manage client relationships and contribute to business-to-business (B2B) revenue growth in the fast-growing auto lending market. Our Strategic Account Manager (SAM) program is a 6 to 8-month strategic sales program that prepares participants for an Account Manager role. Upon completion, you’ll have the opportunity to advance your career development as an Account Manager at GM Financial. In this role, you’ll manage dealer relationships within a geographic territory to achieve key objectives while offering support on all GM Financial initiatives.

Working Conditions: Based at our corporate headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas, the 6 to 8-month SAM training will require extensive travel, including overnight stays.The onboarding program includes credit underwriting, which requires weekend availability. This is a field-based role, and a GM company vehicle will be assigned to you for business and personal use. You must have a valid state-issued driver’s license.
When training is complete, you must be willing to relocate to “Anywhere USA” (anywhere we have a territory in the U.S. based on assignment, not personal preference). GMF offers a sign-on bonus to assist with relocation expenses based on distance (in miles) from Fort Worth, Texas. This role requires overnight travel upon final relocation to an assigned territory, as well as communication with dealers outside of normal business hours.
Compensation: The base salary is $60,000 a year, plus annual bonus. We provide corporate housing for candidates and a pool vehicle during training, if applicable. Once the SAM training is complete and you are assigned a territory, the base salary will increase to $72,000 (possibly more based on factors including location and prior experience). You will also be eligible to participate in our annual bonus program and assigned a company vehicle. This role is also eligible for a phone/internet allowance.
