Position Summary

The Strategic Account Executive is responsible for developing long-term relationships with strategic customers. The role involves understanding the customer’s business needs and proposing solutions that align with their strategic goals, driving sales and achieving revenue and profit targets. Ideal candidates must have excellent communication, collaboration, strategic planning, negotiation, financial, and listening skills. The Strategic Account Executive must have strong process discipline and the ability to build and execute strategic account plans by collaborating cross-functionally across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for revenue and gross margin growth targets through maximizing penetration across assigned large accounts.
  • Follow account management processes and achieve assessments, continuous improvement reviews, cost savings, and solution workstream targets.
  • Build relationships at the executive level and be an expert in the customer’s business, industry, and future trends.
  • Build relationships internally across MSC and be an expert in MSC’s solutions, business systems, and capabilities.
  • Create and execute strategic account plans for each customer through collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Negotiate and renew large enterprise contracts as assigned.
  • Prepare detailed financial models forecasting account performance over the agreement's life.
  • Communicate financial performance expectations and updates across leadership teams.
  • Proactively renew accounts and renegotiate contracts to ensure compliance and performance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience; minimum 7 years of B2B sales experience.
  • Ability to articulate MSC’s value proposition and impact on cost savings, process improvements, inventory management, and data governance.
Other Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 50-60%.

Compensation starting at $122,850 - $175,500 (base + commission), depending on experience.
