Strategic Education, Inc. (SEI) seeks an Academic Program Director to lead curriculum development, assessment, and program quality across multiple offerings. The role partners with deans, faculty directors, and university departments to ensure standards and procedures promote learner success and engagement.

The position emphasizes accreditation oversight, data-driven improvement, and strategic leadership in a dynamic, matrixed environment. Occasional travel and mentoring duties are required.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited CSWE program is required.
• Doctorate degree in Social Work or closely related area required.
• Social Work Licensure required and willingness to obtain Minnesota Licensure upon hire.
• Minimum 2 years of full-time social work practice post CSWE degree required; 1+ year as Academic Program Director preferred.
• Minimum 3 years teaching in an accredited program; online higher education teaching preferred.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead development and revision of academic offerings.
• Use analytics to drive continuous quality improvement in learner success and curricula.
• Ensure accreditation/licensure is obtained and maintained.
• Align offerings with professional trends and standards; validate credentials/licensure.
• Oversee curriculum development per external standards; supervise SME course development.
• Lead accreditation processes and ensure alignment with best practices.
• Build internal and external partnerships to drive program success.
• Schedule courses effectively; supervise Core faculty and performance reviews.
• Host faculty meetings; collaborate on hiring new faculty.
• Address learner programmatic issues and mentor periodically.

Education

Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited CSWE program

Doctorate degree in Social Work or closely related area

Social Work Licensure

Leadership/management experience in academia

Experience with remote teams and matrix environments

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
