Job summary

Stony Brook University is seeking an Assistant Dean for Facilities and Operations to lead facilities, space planning, infrastructure, and operational support across the College of Arts and Sciences. The role reports to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Operations and the CAS Dean, coordinating with central campus offices to keep spaces safe, functional, and aligned with priorities.

Qualifications

Master's degree in a relevant field (Business/Admin/Higher Education/Facilities) is required.
Minimum 5 years of higher-education operations or facilities management experience.
Experience coordinating facilities, renovations, or infrastructure projects in a complex org.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership for facilities, space, equipment, technology, and operational support across CAS.
Lead facilities planning, renovations, and space assignments.
Supervise staff, recruitment, performance, and training; manage workload and safety compliance.
Coordinate with CAS and central campus offices to align with priorities and budgets.
