Sinclair's WJAC in Johnstown, PA seeks a Meteorologist to present the weather forecast across on-air and digital platforms. You’ll craft compelling forecasts that tell a story and engage viewers.

You will forecast, produce, and present weather casts, issue alerts, create graphics, and report live during weather events. This role also involves engaging with viewers on social media and appearing publicly on behalf of the station.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Meteorology or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• 1+ years’ experience in weather presentation and reporting preferred.
• Ability to tell memorable and meaningful weather stories with strong live-shot skills.
• In-depth knowledge of forecasting and accurate weather reporting.
• Sharp writing and news judgment for weather stories.

Responsibilities

• Forecast, produce and present clear and concise weather casts that tell a story and engage viewers.
• Issue warnings and alerts, produce graphics and maps, and report live during weather events.
• Utilize social media during severe weather and write weather stories.
• Make public appearances on behalf of the station.
• Pitch story ideas, develop contacts and report three days a week.
• Work with producers to determine relevant weather content in breaking and everyday situations.
