Job summary

Sinclair, Inc. in Michigan is seeking a Meteorologist to craft the weather cast for on-air and digital platforms. You will forecast, produce graphics, issue warnings, and report live during weather events, using social media to reach viewers during severe weather.

Bachelor’s degree in meteorology or related field is required; experience in weather presentation and reporting is preferred. You will collaborate with producers, deliver clear stories, and maintain strong time management to meet tight

• Bachelor’s degree in meteorology, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Experience in weather presentation is preferred.
• Prior reporting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Forecasting, Producing and Presenting clear and concise weather casts, which tell a story and connect with viewers.
• Issue warnings and alerts, produce graphics and maps, and report live during weather events.
• Utilize social media during severe weather, as well as write weather stories.
• Make public appearances on behalf of the station.
• Work with producers to determine relevant weather content in breaking and everyday situations.
