Job summary

Herschend Family Entertainment seeks a Ride Host at Story Land to engage guests, ensure safety, and operate rides with a friendly, customer-focused attitude. You will perform pre-opening inspections, enforce height and safety rules, and manage guest flow while communicating clearly via microphones.

No formal education is required and iROC training is provided at no cost. The role offers seasonal hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays in New Hampshire, with opportunities to earn and grow within

Qualifications

• Fluent English reading, writing and speaking; bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish) are a plus
• Ability to interact with guests of all ages with a friendly, service-oriented mindset
• Safety-minded approach; following ride operation regulations and procedures
• Strong teamwork and communication with supervisors and fellow hosts

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with guests in a fun, professional manner
• Operate and supervise assigned rides following company policies and safety protocols
• Perform morning inspections and daily tests of rides before opening
• Check safety restraints, height/weight/age requirements, and wristbands
• Maintain guest flow and loading platform, provide clear directions via microphone
• Report ride issues promptly to management and maintenance while ensuring guest safety

The outgoing and safety-oriented Rides Host will operate and assist with rides located throughout the park. This position involves a lot of guest interaction and a customer service-oriented mindset to provide a wonderful experience to everyone who comes to enjoy a day at the park.Ride Hosts are responsible for supervising, monitoring, and attending to park rides, including boarding, securing passengers, operating the ride, and ensuring passengers exit safely.We are currently looking for a:Story Land - Happy Hauntings Ride HostRoles & Responsibilities:Roles & Responsibilities:Greet and interact with guest in a fun and professional mannerMust enjoy interacting with guests of all agesFollow all Story Land and manufacturer established safety regulationsOperates assigned ride or attraction in accordance with company policy and procedure, state and federal regulations and safety protocols.Conduct morning inspections of assigned ride before daily operation beginsTests rides daily before opening to guestsAnswer questions related to ride operations and the parkMaintain an environment that ensures the safety of all employees and guestsResponsible for performing and enforcing accurate height, weight, or age requirements for all rides and attractionsDetermine if each guest entering a ride is wearing the proper wristbandMaintains flow of guests and while also limiting the number of guests on the loading platformGives directions and delivers instructions using a microphone or other communication devicesProperly check all safety restraints to ensure they are in the correct and locking position before ride cycle beginsMaintains constant vigilance while ride is operating and ensures that all riders all following appropriate safety measuresMust be alert and have quick reaction time to stop a ride properly in case of an emergencyPerforms opening and closing procedures for assigned ridesReports ride related issues and mechanical failures to management and maintenance promptlyProtects guest belongings; turns in lost and found items as soon as time allowsAbility to operate all levels of rides throughout [Location]Education & Experience :There is no minimum education requirement.No previous experience is required.All Rides Hosts must go through the International Ride Operator Certification (iROC) course as a part of the training. Successful course completion is required for this position.
