Job summary

Story Land in New Hampshire is seeking a friendly Games Host for the Happy Hauntings season. You will greet guests, describe games, and assist with merchandise in our gift shops, delivering a fun and safe guest experience across Story Land locations.

Fluency in English is required; bilingual skills are a plus. The role offers a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, with opportunities to cross-train across departments and enjoy free park admission on days off.

• Prior customer service or retail experience helpful

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a smile and assist with questions about merchandise or games
• Explain game rules and directions and keep areas organized and safe
• Upsell and promote merchandise using suggestive selling techniques
• Operate POS to finalize purchases and handle transactions
• Maintain clean, stocked retail spaces and refold/re-hang items as needed
• Report guest concerns or issues to leadership and assist across departments as needed
• Engage guests to create a fun, interactive experience
• Assist with game areas, ensuring items are well stocked and area neat
• Provide a positive, friendly experience that encourages return visits

You will make friends and get to meet new people every day while assisting them in our gift shops.The outgoing and service-oriented Games Host provides fast and courteous service to our guests interested in purchasing a souvenir to remember their experience.We are currently looking for a:Story Land - Happy Hauntings - Games HostRoles & Responsibilities:Roles & Responsibilities:Welcome and greet all g uests with a smile as they enter retail locationsInitiate conversations with guests and assist with any questions they may have regarding our merchandise or souvenirsMaintain a general knowledge of all available merchandise to assist guests with questions regarding our productsAttempt to increase revenue by utilizing various sales techniques, such as suggestive selling or upsellingResolve guest concerns in a courteous and prompt mannerPromptly communicate potential issues or complaints to retail or park leadership, as neededOperate all POS equipment accurately to finalize all purchasesEnsure merchandise is well stocked, organized, and presentableRefold or rehang clothing items as necessaryEnsure the retail locations are clean and safe for our guestsOperate mobile retail carts, when applicableEnsure that the retail space is free of tripping hazards or any other threats that could potentially injure a guest or another employeeProviding a fun and interactive experience while the guests are playingProvide clear and accurate explanations of game rules or directionsEncourage players but never assists the player in winning or tell them how to winMaintain game area in a neat, organized, and clean mannerEnsure that game area remains properly stockedPromptly notify leadership of any guest complaints, maintenance issues, or emergencies All other duties assigned by leadershipEducation & Experience:No education requiredPrevious work experience is not requiredLanguage: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.Requirements:Must be at least 1 4 years of age to comply with New Hampshire Child Labor LawsAbility to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysMust have reliable transportation to and from your scheduled shiftAbility to comply with all uniform policiesMust possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional mannerAbility to positively engage with guests to promote sales and customer satisfactionPrevious experience with Point of Sale (POS) technology and PCI compliance a plusAbility to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independentlyPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workdayAbility to frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shouldersAbility to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 3 0 pounds or moreWorking Conditions:This role will be based in one or more retail locations throughout the park , with exposure to both indoor and outdoor environmentsFrequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain , and other weather conditionsSome exposure to dust and chemical cleaning agentsWorking at Story Land is about making people happy!
