Job summary

EMERY SAPP & SONS is seeking a Drainage Estimator to develop budgets and bid estimates for storm sewer systems, culverts, and drainage structures. You will review plans, perform quantity takeoffs, and coordinate pricing with suppliers for large transportation projects.

The role requires experience in drainage construction, understanding of stormwater systems, and the ability to read utility plans and relocation drawings. This on-site position supports preconstruction and risk reviews.

Qualifications

• Underground utility or drainage construction experience.
• Understanding of stormwater systems, pipe installation, and earthwork operations.
• Ability to read utility plans and utility relocation drawings.
• Familiarity with large-scale transportation infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specifications related to drainage and utility scopes.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for storm sewer pipe, structures, manholes, box culverts, and utility components.
• Develop cost estimates for excavation, trenching, backfill, dewatering, and restoration.
• Analyze utility conflicts and constructability considerations.
• Coordinate pricing with suppliers and specialty subcontractors.
• Assist operations teams during preconstruction and project transitions.
• Support risk assessments and bid strategy reviews.
