Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. is seeking a Roadway Estimator to develop detailed estimates for highway projects, including grading, earthwork, base rock, and traffic control. You will review plans, specifications, and sequencing to support bids and project startup.

Responsibilities include conducting earthwork calculations, mass haul evaluations, quantity takeoffs, and evaluating equipment and labor needs. You will coordinate with vendors, assist with bid strategy, and help turnover estimates with

Qualifications

Experience in highway, roadway, or transportation infrastructure construction.
Understanding of grading operations and earthwork production.
Ability to interpret roadway design plans and construction sequencing.
Knowledge of MoDOT specifications and bidding procedures.

Responsibilities

Analyze roadway plans, profiles, cross sections, and specifications.
Complete earthwork calculations and mass haul evaluations.
Prepare quantity takeoffs for grading, aggregate base, stabilization, guardrail, signage, and roadway features.
Evaluate equipment production rates and manpower requirements.
Coordinate pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
Assist with bid strategy development and risk assessments.
Support field teams during project startup and estimate turnover.
