Job summary

GAMARC Consulting seeks a Stormwater Engineer (Technical Lead) to join its Water Resources team in a lead technical role, overseeing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and stormwater/floodplain design for municipal and roadway projects.

The successful candidate will mentor staff, manage engineers and technicians, and maintain strong client relationships while delivering robust solutions across multiple sites in IL/IN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 8-12 years of relevant experience in water resources engineering (flexible for highly experienced candidates).
• Proven ability to lead projects from a technical perspective.
• Hands-on experience with stormwater design and management.
• Expertise in hydraulic analysis for open stream projects.
• Proficiency with hydrology and hydraulics modeling tools, such as HEC-RAS and SWMM.
• Strong skills in roadway drainage and flood reduction projects.
• Illinois and/or Indiana Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Project resume showcasing technical leadership in relevant projects (required).

Responsibilities

• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for floodplains, floodways, bridge, and culvert crossings.
• Analyze flood problem areas, identify issues, and develop/design alternative solutions.
• Design stormwater systems for municipal and roadway projects, including conveyance, storage, and quality best management practices.
• Design soil erosion and sediment control practices.
• Serve as the technical lead, managing engineers and technicians to complete project plans, while independently handling critical tasks as needed.
• Conduct calculations/models, prepare reports, draft plans, and perform cost estimation.
• Review and validate engineering work completed by team members.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients and vendors.
