Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemistry or biology or other appropriate field is required.
• Must possess valid Louisiana driver's license.
• MS4 training certification is preferred within 3 years of employment.
• Strong communication skills are required for interaction with industrial/commercial facilities and the public.
• Must be physically capable of performing essential duties as described.

Responsibilities

• Monitor water quality and collect storm water samples for laboratory analysis and reporting.
• Perform basic field testing with equipment such as pH meters, rain gauges and field test kits.
• Assist inspections of businesses and industries for stormwater compliance.
• Respond to storm water quality complaints and questions; document findings and actions.
• Operate GIS/GPS equipment to locate sites and compile written investigation reports.
