The City of Lubbock seeks a dedicated environmental professional to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws as they apply to municipal operations. The role supports the Storm Water Program Manager, conducts inspections of facilities, and assists in education and outreach to industries and the public.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, toxicology, chemistry, or related field plus 1–2 years environmental experience.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• Must obtain CPMSM within 18 months of hire and 40-hour HAZWOPER within 12 months of hire.

Responsabilités

• Monitor activities for compliance with environmental regulations.
• Identify training needs in environmental laws and regulations and provide training as needed.
• Provide technical assistance on environmental issues related to permit compliance, regulations, or departmental policies.
• Inspect City facilities and private establishments to ensure compliance and assist in stormwater pollution prevention plans.
