Job summary

Bryan County seeks a Stormwater Operating Foreman in the Public Works Department to supervise daily stormwater and road drainage work and direct crews in construction and maintenance projects.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and five years of stormwater experience; MS4 and GA Erosion control knowledge is preferred. A valid Georgia driver’s license is required, with class B or A CDL preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; five years of experience in stormwater construction and maintenance, or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
  • Experience with Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) and Georgia Erosion, Sedimentation, and Pollution Control Plans preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must possess a valid Georgia Driver’s License; class B or A CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operation of work crews in installation and repair of roadways and drainage systems.
  • Supervises, directs work, handles employee concerns and problems, and recommends disciplinary action as needed.
  • Monitors progress of operations to ensure safety, timeliness and quality.
  • Sets grades for roads, ditches, and culverts.
  • Operates heavy equipment and mosquito control equipment when required.
  • Sets up and takes down traffic control to protect crews and the public.
  • Inspects bridges and culverts for obstructions and safety.
  • Punctuality and attendance are essential.
