The Bryan County Board Commissioners are now accepting applications for a Full TimeStormwater Operating Foreman in our Public Works Department.
The purpose of this classification is to oversee the daily operation of work crews in the installation and repair of County roadways and drainage systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Supervises, directs work, processes employee concerns and problems, provides oral counseling when necessary, and recommends disciplinary action to Stormwater Superintendent.
Supervises crews engaged in stormwater system maintenance, construction, inspections, and repair projects.
Monitors progress of operations to ensure work is completed safely, promptly and correctly.
Sets grades for roads, ditches, and culverts.
Assists work crews and operates heavy equipment and mosquito control equipment when required.
Sets up and takes down traffic control, including cones, barricades, signage, and other warning devices to ensure the safety of work crews and the public.
Inspects bridges and culverts for any possible obstruction and for overall safety.
Punctuality and attendance are essential.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
May remove road kill from roadways.
Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High School diploma or GED required; five years of experience in stormwater construction and maintenance, or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Experience with Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) and Georgia Erosion, Sedimentation, and Pollution Control Plans preferred. Supervisory experience preferred. Must possess a valid Georgia Driver’s License; class B or A CDL preferred.
