Job summary

The City of Wichita is seeking a General Maintenance Supervisor 2 – Flood Control/Stormwater to lead and coordinate maintenance of flood control structures, stormwater pump stations, and drainage systems. The role focuses on planning, supervising staff, and working with engineers and contractors to ensure safety and reliability of municipal infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Requires a four-year college degree in engineering, science, construction management or public administration.
• Three years of progressively responsible engineering or science experience in stormwater systems.
• One year of supervisory experience.
• Valid Kansas driver’s license or equivalent as required by the City.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise the work of technical and non-technical staff.
• Assist with capital project planning and management.
• Develop cost estimates and prepare technical reports.
• Ensure conformity with plans, specifications, standards, and policies.
