Job summary

The City of Wichita seeks a General Maintenance Supervisor 2 – Flood Control/Stormwater to lead teams maintaining levees, storm sewer networks, inlet structures and pump stations. You will plan field operations, supervise staff, and coordinate with engineers, contractors and utility partners to safeguard public safety and resilience.

This role requires a four-year engineering or related degree, several years of experience in stormwater systems, and a Kansas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, construction management or public administration.
• Three years of progressively responsible engineering or science experience.
• One year of supervisory experience.
• Valid Kansas driver’s license.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist with annual renewal and replacement plans alongside the Stormwater Engineer.
• Develop plans and manage capital projects; oversee scope and budget.
• Plan and supervise technical and non-technical staff.
• Evaluate contractor performance and ensure compliance with city standards.
• Prepare cost estimates and technical reports; maintain records.
