Job summary

Merit Professional Services is seeking an Environmental Compliance Inspector to cover the South Austin and San Antonio areas. You will inspect stormwater controls on active job sites, compile observations into reports, and update SWPPP documents.

The role requires on-site work, travel across jobs, and strong communication with project managers to ensure regulatory compliance. Your duties include daily site visits, adherence to OSHA safety protocols, and delivering clear guidance to maintain

Qualifications

• B.S. in Environmental Sciences or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Construction experience is helpful but not required.
• Capable of driving several hours daily and working outdoors on active sites.
• Excellent customer service and on-site communication with client representatives.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and drug test.
• This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Inspect stormwater pollution prevention controls on 10–15 construction projects per day.
• Observe controls and verify they function properly; report findings to site managers.
• Update and maintain the project's SWPPP.
• Communicate needed actions to project managers to ensure compliance with regulations.
