Job summary

MacKay, in partnership with Lowe Engineers, is seeking a Stormwater Engineer for our Atlanta, GA team to design, supervise, and deliver civil stormwater projects across municipalities. The role emphasizes field oversight, plan reviews, and working with project staff to ensure quality and compliance.

Ideal candidates have a BS in civil-related field, 4–8 years of experience (including internships), and preferably an EIT.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• 4-8 years of experience (including internship experience) in construction, surveying, design, traffic engineering, inspection, or estimating.
• EIT preferred.
• Stormwater inspection and construction oversight experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional and technical civil engineering work in the design, construction, and maintenance of public works facilities.
• Supervise and inspect minor construction and maintenance work on roadways, storm drains, sidewalks, or other public works projects.
• Prepare the design for simple public works projects.
• Prepare exhibits and descriptions for easement and right-of-way agreements.
• Inspect construction materials in conformance with specifications.
• Respond to requests from city residents.
• Identifies potential follow-on work and pursues those concepts with Project/Senior staff members.
• Provides concise, clear written documentation of activities in the form of field logs and notes, technical memoranda, and sections of technical reports.
