Job summary

Southern Utilities & Grading is seeking an experienced Fine Grading Misc Equipment Operator/Laborer to join a field team and support motor grader operations. The role requires physical work, reliable transportation, and readiness to learn on site.

Work hours typically run Monday through Friday 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, with potential overtime and Saturdays as needed. Per diem may apply for travel to upcoming SC projects. Benefits include health and dental insurance, 401(k) and PTO.

Qualifications

• Willing to work Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, or other schedule as assigned, with possible Saturdays.
• Must pass pre-employment drug and background screening.
• Must have reliable transportation and be 18+ years old.

Responsibilities

• Assist with shoveling curb and removing inlet protection; spot for trucks/equipment.
• Operate and assist motor grader with wheel loader or skid steer for bulk material handling.
• Run support equipment (smooth drum roller, backhoe, trench roller, mini excavator) as directed by foreman.
• Follow company goals and directions from foreman or superintendent.
