Job summary

Hydaker-Wheatlake Company is seeking a Storm Services Onboarding Specialist to join our growing team in the United States. The role focuses on building storm rosters, coordinating call-outs, and onboarding restoration personnel efficiently, even during surge periods.

You will manage onboarding documentation, conduct pre-hire checks, and maintain accurate HRIS records, while collaborating with HR, Fleet, Safety, IT and Payroll to ensure smooth onboarding processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in HR, onboarding or a similar administrative role.
• Experience in utility/ construction/ storm restoration environments is a plus.
• Familiarity with Form I-9, background checks and drug testing; DOT/CDL knowledge preferred.
• Proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with confidentiality and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain storm rosters with Storm Leadership.
• Support call-out processes and confirm availability.
• Onboard storm restoration personnel quickly, including surge periods.
• Collect onboarding documents (I-9, tax forms).
• Complete pre-hire onboarding (background checks, drug testing, CDL verifications).
• Maintain storm personnel data in HRIS per records standards.
• Coordinate onboarding with HR, Fleet, Safety, IT, Accounting and Payroll.
• Serve as first contact for onboarding questions; refer broader HR matters.
• Keep Storm Leadership informed of roster and onboarding status.
• Provide on-call coverage and scheduling flexibility during storms.
• Perform additional duties during reduced storm activity.
