Job summary

Umicore Pasadena, TX, is seeking a detail‑oriented Inventory/Material Controller to support plant operations. You will manage stores inventory, coordinate with Maintenance, Purchasing, and Environmental teams, and ensure SAP receipts and cycle counts are accurate.

Your Key Accountabilities
Material Control
  • Communicate regularly with Maintenance and Purchasing to prioritize actions and support plant operations with Stores inventory
  • Manage the Stores inventory in both the onsite and offsite warehouses
  • Update consumptions and cycle count Stores inventory to maintain a sufficient stock to support plant operations
  • Manage the receipts in SAP of all delivered items for Stores and indirect purchases
  • Organize delivered items and notify ordering party of receipt
  • Communicate with offsite warehouse to schedule pickups and drop offs as appropriate
  • Manage the loading process and create Bill of Materials for shipments to offset warehouses or customers
  • Participate in creating and maintaining standard operating procedures for Stores inventory management.
  • Coordinate with Environmental Engineer to monitor waste inventory levels within the plant. Schedule pickups, complete the waste manifests and manage loading
  • Back up all Raw Materials Coordinator duties as required
  • Support customer shipments from offsite warehouses or at plant if required
Inventory control
  • Manage the weekly inventory process of key spares and consumables in Stores. Cycle count and update SAP as found. Work with Maintenance and Purchasing to adjust the min and max on key items. Work with Operations and Maintenance to control the outflow of materials in an organized fashion
  • Collaborate with other logistics, warehouse and sales team members to create innovative solutions to track inventory, complete accurate cycle counts, and standard operating procedures and best practices
  • Participate and support annual physical inventories for site.
Who we are looking for
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma required or equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of education
  • Safety and hazardous materials training
  • 3 years of inventory management and warehouse experience
Certifications
  • Must be Forklift certified
  • Certified in the Transportation of Hazardous Materials and Dangerous Goods
Language Skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
Mathematical Skill
  • Basic mathematics, ability to create excel charts for tracking purposes
Interpersonal Skills
  • Strong inter-personal skills
  • Must be able to manage multiple deadlines with competing priorities
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated individual who can work independently and make decisions
  • Work well under pressure
  • Very detailed oriented

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with staff and customers

Computer Skills
  • Excellent proficiency with the use of Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of an ERP System - SAP Specific
