Job summary

Umicore is seeking a maintenance technician to support electrical and mechanical systems across plant operations. You will troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on critical equipment while collaborating with operations, engineering and contractors.

The role features a rotating 12-hour shift schedule and a focus on safety, process safety management, and continuous improvement within an industrial environment.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of maintenance experience (mechanical, electrical, or both).
• 5–10 years of industrial/plant experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and instrumentation.
• Experience with preventive maintenance systems and work order management.
• Familiarity with SAP or similar systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair plant equipment.
• Complete work orders safely and efficiently.
• Perform PM tasks to improve reliability and uptime.
• Maintain electrical systems, motors, panels, instrumentation.
• Support installation and commissioning of new electrical systems.
• Diagnose faults and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain pumps, valves, conveyors, rotating equipment.
• Perform alignment, lubrication, and mechanical repairs.
• Support safety programs (PSM, PHAs, HAZOPs) and OSHA procedures.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering and Contractors.
• Assist in training and knowledge sharing.

Your Key Accountabilities

Maintenance Execution

• Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on plant equipment
• Complete assigned work orders safely and efficiently
• Execute preventive maintenance (PM) tasks to improve reliability and uptime Electrical & Instrumentation
• Maintain and repair electrical systems, motors, control panels, and instrumentation
• Support installation and commissioning of new electrical systems and equipment
• Diagnose electrical faults and implement corrective actions

Mechanical Maintenance

• Maintain pumps, valves, conveyors, rotating equipment, and mechanical systems
• Perform alignment, lubrication, and mechanical repairs
• Support equipment rebuilds and installations

Safety & Compliance

• Support compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements
• Participate in PHAs, HAZOPs, SOP development, and safety reviews
• Follow OSHA and site safety procedures at all times
• Identify and implement improvements to reduce downtime and improve performance
• Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and process optimization
• Assist in developing maintenance procedures and training documentation
• Work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Contractors
• Support training and skill development across the maintenance team
• Foster teamwork and knowledge sharing across disciplines

Who we are looking for

Education & Experience

• 2–5 years of maintenance experience (mechanical, electrical, or both) required

Work Schedule

• The position will transition to a rotating12-hour shift schedule, which may include:
  • 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. / 6:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.
  • 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. / 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
