San Bernardino County seeks Store Specialists to plan, organize, and manage warehouse operations for a major facility segment. You will receive, inspect, and stock supplies, verify shipping documents, process invoices, and coordinate deliveries with vendors and departments.
The ideal candidate has two years of full-time warehouse experience, OSHA forklift certification, and may have supervisory experience. Candidates with automated inventory system experience are encouraged to apply.
San Bernardino County is currently accepting applications for Store Specialists who plan, organize, and maintain the operations of a warehouse, a major segment of a large warehouse, and/or storage facility. Stores Specialists order, receive, and inspect a variety of supplies, materials, parts, equipment and furniture; review and verify accuracy of shipping documents; enter/process invoices for stock; contact vendors and departments to coordinate the ordering and delivery of parts and items; fill requisitions; operate material handling equipment; perform periodic inventory; and maintain inventory systems.
The resulting eligible list will be used to fill immediate vacancies and may also be used to fill future vacancies throughout the County as they occur.

Pre-Employment Process: Prior to appointment, applicants must pass a background investigation and verification of employment history.
Physical Ability: This position requires occasional moving and lifting of heavy objects, either manually or with the aid of lifting devices. Incumbents must be physically able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds, stand, bend, squat, kneel, twist, turn, and stoop. Based upon assignment, employees may be required to work outside continuously and are exposed to electricity, chemicals, heat, oil, odors, dust, gas, and noise.
Sheriff's and Probation Department Positions: Applicants must not have been convicted of a felony, or currently be (or have been within the last year) on court ordered probation. Shift work is required; incumbents may be required to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts and overtime.
Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.
Experience: Two (2) years of full-time experience routinely performing at least two (2) of the following duties: receiving, storing, issuing, or inventorying materials in a warehouse environment.
Note: Department store or general storefront inventory is not considered qualifying experience.
The ideal candidate will have two (2) years of full-time experience performing general warehouse operations as described above and will have an OSHA certification for power lifting devices (forklift certification). Lead or supervisory experience is highly desirable. Additionally, applicants possessing computer experience and implementation of an automated system are highly encouraged to apply.
