Job summary

AEP in Columbus, Ohio is seeking a Stores Equipment Operator to manage storeroom operations, ensuring timely fulfillment of material, supplies and equipment needs for distribution and transmission. You will operate tractors, pole-trucks, cranes, and forklifts, while maintaining logs and following safety procedures.

The role requires CDL Class A, DOT tests, and the ability to lift up to 70 pounds; willingness to relocate within 45 miles of the Minerva Annex.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must pass DOT regulations tests and DOT physical examinations.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License required.
• Crane certification within 1 year if required; recertifications as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer equipment including pole-truck, lowboy, crane and other Company vehicles.
• Perform minor maintenance on trucks and report needed repairs.
• Operate material handling equipment and load/unload materials and poles.
• Maintain logs and records for trucks and equipment per company and government rules.
• Ensure safe operation following company safety rules and procedures.
• Move, store, and issue materials, and handle hazardous items per procedures.
