Job summary

Zekelman Industries is hiring a Storeroom Attendant to maintain accurate inventory levels, receive and store materials, and support maintenance and operations with timely parts through SAP systems.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, safety, and collaboration with MRO, suppliers, and internal teams. This position is based in a US manufacturing environment and offers competitive hourly compensation with benefits.

Qualifications

  • Experience in storeroom, warehouse, inventory control, or manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience with SAP or similar inventory management systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of inventory control processes, cycle counting, receiving and material handling.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains, receives, disburses, and requisitions storeroom materials while updating inventory in SAP.
  • Processes inventory transactions: Goods Receipts, MRP records, Cycle Counts, Vendor info records, Goods Movements.
  • Follows storeroom procedures and inventory control protocols.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Receives, unloads, inspects, and stores incoming inventory.
  • Ensures inventory is entered into the system promptly to maintain accuracy.
  • Works with MRO personnel to provide spare parts and materials.
  • Controls storeroom access and retrieval procedures for accountability.
  • Conducts routine cycle counts of inventory and critical spare parts.
  • Maintains accurate inventory records and identifies discrepancies.
  • Assists with outgoing repair items, requisitions, and shipping coordination.
  • Collaborates with suppliers to resolve delivery issues and discrepancies.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work environment and adheres to PPE/LOTO/safety requirements.

About the Role

Reporting to the Storeroom Manager, the Storeroom Attendant is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels and supporting efficient storeroom operations in a manufacturing environment. This role ensures materials, spare parts, and supplies are received, tracked, stored, and distributed properly while maintaining inventory accuracy through SAP transactions and adherence to established procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and committed to supporting maintenance and operations teams through effective inventory management.

What You’ll Do
  • Maintains, receives, disburses, and requisitions storeroom materials while accurately updating inventory records in SAP.
  • Processes inventory transactions including Goods Receipts, MRP records, Inventory Cycle Counts, Vendor Information Records, and Goods Movements.
  • Follows established storeroom procedures and inventory control protocols in accordance with company policies and assigned SAP roles.
  • Builds and maintains positive working relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Receives, unloads, inspects, and stores incoming inventory in designated locations.
  • Ensures inventory is received and entered into the system promptly to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Works closely with Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) personnel to provide necessary spare parts and materials.
  • Controls storeroom access and retrieval procedures to ensure inventory accountability and accuracy.
  • Conducts routine cycle counts of inventory and critical spare parts as directed by the Storeroom Manager.
  • Maintains accurate inventory records and assists in identifying inventory discrepancies.
  • Assists with outgoing repair items, including purchase requisitions, repair documentation, shipping coordination, and tracking.
  • Collaborates with suppliers to resolve delivery issues, missing items, packing discrepancies, and duplicate shipments.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Complies with all personal protective equipment (PPE), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and workplace safety requirements.
  • Adheres to OSHA, EEO, DOT, and other applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Who You Are
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous storeroom, warehouse, inventory control, or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience working with SAP or similar inventory management systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of inventory control processes, cycle counting, receiving, and material handling practices.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to inventory accuracy.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with maintenance, operations, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
  • Working knowledge of safety requirements and manufacturing facility procedures.
  • Proficient with basic computer applications and data entry processes.
