Job summary

Civil Recruit is seeking a Storeroom Attendant to manage receiving, stocking, issuing and cycle counting at a customer site. The role requires accuracy, organization and reliable attendance on 2nd shift.

Responsibilities include data entry in Vallen and client databases, 5S activities, and lifting up to 50 lb. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

  • 3+ months relevant experience or training preferred.
  • Loading/unloading, picking, packing, or moving goods in a warehouse.
  • Ability to read safety rules and work orders.
  • Basic computer skills to learn ERP/database systems.

Responsibilities

  • Unloads, receives, and stores incoming product and equipment; checks for damage.
  • Sorts, labels, and stores items by size, style, or product codes.
  • Issues items to site employees and maintains records.
  • Enters data in databases for stock records and delivery schedules.
  • Requests requisitions to replenish inventory.
  • Performs cycle counts and prepares inventory reports.
  • Inspects tools/equipment for defects and reports issues.
  • Delivers tools to work locations and assists as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as requested.

Job description

Storeroom Attendant is an individual contributor positioned within a customer's location to fulfil daily receiving, stocking, issuing, and cycle counting of customer and/or Vallen inventory. They are responsible for maintaining a professional, clean and organized work environment.

While this is listed as a VMI position, the associate will NOT be driving a vehicle.

HOURS: 2nd shift Mon-Fri 2p-1030p. Will train on first for 1-2 weeks (6a-230p).

May be asked to cover a portion of another shift if there are call outs. Occasional mandatory OT. May require weekends.

Potential for 6 temp to hire.

This position is closer to a Site Coordinator/VMI hybrid.

Computer skills required. This position will largely focus on making orders, creating reqs, and purchase orders in both the Vallen and client databases.

Attention to detail needed. Need to maintain accurate counts.

Need someone punctual, reliable, and dependable.

This person will be responsible for managing the inventory and orders, experience required.

Mechanical knowledge helpful.

Will perform 5S (cleaning, organizing, sorting, etc.).

Will be loading/unloading vending machines in the warehouse.

Will assist with receiving and other duties in facility as needed.

Will lift up to 50# on occasion unassisted.

This facility does not have AC. Can get hot in the summer.

Dress code: pants with belt loops(no shorts). T-shirt or polo/collared shirt.

Responsibilities
  • Unloads, receives, and puts away incoming product, goods, tools, and/or equipment; unpacks bales, crates, and other containers; checks for damage and for discrepancies between goods and invoices.
  • Accurately sorts, labels, moves and stores items; places material or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, style, or product codes; arranges storage to optimize crib space.
  • Issues product, goods, tools and/or equipment to site employees; documents and maintains accurate records for issued and returned items.
  • Enters data into a database or other computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records; retrieves stored information to respond to inquiries (e.g., inventory levels or delivery schedules); documents discrepancies on an error log and seeks management advice on appropriate corrective action.
  • Requests requisitions to replenish inventory.
  • Assists with inventory level maintenance; performs cycle counts and prepares report results.
  • Inspects and measures tools/equipment for defects, wear and tear and reports damage or wear to supervisors.
  • Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Delivers tools or equipment to associate work locations.
  • Investigates and locates lost or misplaced equipment or safety supplies.
  • May repair, service and lubricate tools and equipment as required.
  • Performs other related duties as requested.
Requirements
  • 3+ months relevant experience and/or training. High school diploma or equivalent preferred (not required).
  • Loading, unloading, picking, packing or moving goods in a warehouse environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work orders, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic computer knowledge and proficiency and/or a demonstrated technical aptitude to learn; preferred technical skills to include but not limited to MS-Office products, Vista, Control, SX.e, Prophet 21.
  • Demonstration of basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units to measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals); ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent preferred.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and be self-motivated to accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
  • Demonstration of attention to detail and is safety minded.
