Job summary

General Mills Inc. in Buffalo is seeking a Storeroom Attendant to join our manufacturing team. The role is on a rotating 8-hour swing schedule with 2nd shift differential, and starts at $23.84 per hour with full benefits after probation.

You will manage storeroom operations, issue parts in Maximo, keep inventory accurate, and support maintenance and receiving Clerk duties while adhering to safety and quality standards across all shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills.
• Ability to work 8-hour Swing shifts.
• Willingness to work any shift, including weekends/holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, push, pull, and twist for extended periods.
• Willingness to work in hot, cold, noisy, wet, or dusty conditions.
• Ability to climb and/or work at heights with stairs, ladders, platforms.
• Ability to follow human and food safety, quality, and grooming standards.
• Ability to wear PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment.
• Issue parts to maintenance personnel on request.
• Maintain storeroom security.
• Issue parts immediately in the Maximo system.
• Unpack, sort, arrange and place inventoried items in proper location.
• Tag items with the proper GMI P/N.
• Reorganize storeroom and barcode all items.
• Keep storeroom organized, clean, and safe.
• Identify slow moving, obsolete, and substandard inventory.
• Communicate shortages to Buyer or Storeroom Manager.
• Cycle count items and enter data into inventory system.
• Investigate significant stock adjustments.
• Inventory free-stock items.
• Assist Receiving Clerk.
• Attend Safety Meetings and Plant Wide Communications.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.
• Assist other plant areas as needed

Clerk will make sure items are tagged with the proper GMI P/N.* Responsible for reorganization of the storeroom, and the bar coding of all items in the storeroom. Each clerk will be assigned a designated area of the storeroom to organize and maintain.* Keep storeroom organized, clean, and safe.* Aid in identification of slow moving, obsolete, and substandard inventory.* Track and communicate inventory shortage situations to the Buyer or Storeroom Manager.* Cycle count “X” amount of items and enter the data into the current inventory system. Investigate significant stock adjustments.* Inventory free-stock items, ex.
