A position is available for a Stores person in the Catering Department at a leading hospital, managing storage and safekeeping of goods. Candidates should possess a Food Hygiene certificate and experience in a large kitchen, and work well under pressure as part of a team.

A position has arisen for a Stores person working in our Catering stores within our busy Hospital Catering Department - the role involves managing the storage and safekeeping of goods in the Catering stores area
The post is in a busy Hospital kitchen,
Store Personsmanage the storage and safekeeping of goods in a store or warehouse. They receive goods from suppliers, check the goods for damage and store it appropriately. They track the movement of goods and are responsible for all paperwork relating to the receiving and dispatching of goods.
The candidate should hold their Food Foundation level 2 certificate/Basic Food Hygiene certificate and have a knowledge of working in a large industrial kitchen.
They should be able to work under pressure and work off their own initiative but also to be able to work and be part of a large team.
At our core is Patient Care and recuperation
The Organisation operates from 3 main sites - Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Ashton Road, Lancaster (RLI), Furness General Hospital (FGH), Barrow and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH), Kendal and also a number of community healthcare premises.
RLI & FGH have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions, such as broken bones and Minor illnesses.
All 3 Hospitals provide a range of planned care including Out-Patients, Diagnostics, Therapies, Day cases and Inpatient Surgery. In addition, a range of Local Outreach services and Diagnostics are provided from Community Facilities across Morecambe Bay

Disclosure and Barring Scheme (DBS)
If the role you are applying for is identified as either controlled or regulated activity as defined in in the Safeguarding vulnerable Groups Act (2006) any offer of employment is provisional upon a satisfactory DBS check being obtained.
The healthcare sector is exempted from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
In line with other NHS organisations in the North West Region, the Trust is now passing the charge for undertaking a DBS check on to candidates in the event they are successfully appointed into the post for which they have applied. Candidates can choose whether to pay this over 1-3 months as a deduction from the monthly salary. However, if you are applying for a post as a BANK worker, the payment must be made in full at the time of employment checks. By applying for this vacancy you are agreeing to this undertaking in the event you are successfully appointed.
The cost of an Enhanced Disclosure will be £55.38 and for a Standard Disclosure will be £27.38.
