SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Performs a wide range of storekeeping duties. Responsibilities include ordering, receiving, sorting, issuing supplies/equipment; analyzing needs; evaluating products; inventory control; and recordkeeping.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Inventory Management
  • Maintain stock records; conduct physical and perpetual inventory.
  • Evaluate stock levels, shelf life, space needs, reorder, as necessary.
  • Evaluate products based on user needs and cost analysis.
  • Place supply orders; communicate with vendors, service providers, and district staff.
  • Receiving & Distribution
  • Inspect incoming deliveries; verify against orders and invoices.
  • Store supplies by user department protocols; issue and deliver requested items.
  • Recordkeeping & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate purchase, account, and inventory records.
  • Reconcile purchases with budget allocations.
  • Prepare statistical and damage reports using computerized systems.
QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that could likely provide the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and skills would be:

Education: equivalent to a HS diploma

Experience: 3 years of advanced journey-level storeroom/warehouse experience, including lead duties.

Licenses/Certificates: Valid Nevada Driver's License (or ability to obtain).

  • May require additional certifications based on specific area of responsibility.

  • Knowledge of contracts, purchase orders, and shipping documentation.
  • Knowledge of inventory software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
  • Knowledge of automotive and heavy equipment parts sourcing.
  • Knowledge of budget preparation basics.

  • Skill in applying purchasing protocols.
  • Skill in the use of computerized systems and parts catalogs efficiently.

This is a 40 hours per week, 260 day position.

Benefit packages are available for all employees, eligible employees who are regularly scheduled to work 27.5 hours per week or more receive full benefits of the District which include but are not limited to;

New employees will be fingerprinted upon hire and every five years thereafter and will have $58.50 deducted from their first paycheck to help defray the cost of fingerprinting. Non-licensed employees will have $58.50 deduction when their fingerprints are completed every five years. Fingerprint fees are subject to change.
